A material sense of place
Wood, stone, steel, and plaster do not automatically make a house regional. Their scale, assembly, weathering, and relationship to the landscape matter just as much as their names.
We are interested in why a material was selected, how it was sourced, how it is detailed, and how it will be maintained. Reclaimed components and familiar construction methods can produce original architecture when used with care.
Material integrity is a relationship between design intention and the way a building is made.
